You Have Questions, We Have Answers
What makes a fiber-optic network better than traditional cable internet?
Fiber-optic technology has several advantages over copper cables for both internet and TV:
- Capacity. Fiber-optic cables transmit more information over a single line than copper, allowing for fast internet speeds and hundreds of TV channels.
- Signal strength. The signal degrades less in a fiber-optic cable compared to copper, which means more efficient internet and crystal-clear TV.
- Energy consumption. Because fiber signals are stronger, less power is needed to deliver them.
How does FiOS Business Internet compare to Frontier’s standard business internet?
FiOS offers more bandwidth than our high-speed internet plans. While Frontier Business high-speed internet can reach speeds up to 24 Mbps, our FiOS Business Internet delivers speeds as fast as 75 Mbps in some areas. That means your employees can get more done in less time..
How can I contact Frontier customer service?
Frontier has a customer service page dedicated to answering your questions. You’ll find help with things like your phone and FiOS internet service. Or, simply call 855.697.5609 to talk to a representative.
Do I have to sign a contract? Is there an early termination fee?
Frontier FiOS internet plans require a one-year service agreement. This protects you from price increases for the length of the term. Bundled fiber-optic services also require a contract, but the bundle contract term may be different from stand-alone FiOS service.
There is an early termination fee for ending your contract before the term is up. The fee is simply the remaining balance on the contract.
What is the ideal speed for my needs?
The best internet speed for your business depends heavily on two factors: activities and users. You’ll find the right speed by multiplying the number of users by the amount of bandwidth common activities take. We also have an article that goes more in-depth on this topic.
What kind of equipment will I need with FiOS Business Internet?
Your internet connection is only as good as your equipment. That’s why Frontier tailors your router and modem to your package. Your business will be firing on all cylinders so you can focus on what really matters, serving your customers.
How can I benefit from a symmetrical internet connection?
With Frontier, you’ll get symmetrical speeds—a feature unique to fiber-optic internet. This means your upload and download speeds will be equal. Typically, upload speeds are slower with standard internet.
Symmetrical speeds are essential for modern businesses as cloud-based applications are more popular than ever. If your employees share large files, use digital phone systems, or collaborate via video conferencing, then symmetrical speeds will ensure productivity doesn’t suffer.
